My little rant: Besides getting your own domain name..which I personally think should be done before you even start, drop the WP hosting and go with a paid host that has "1-click" WP install (much easier). My partial lists include: Host Gator, Super Green, or Green Geeks. I use Green Geeks Hosting
http://greengeeks.com. What to look for in hosting: Yearly or Monthly pricing, 1-click installs, and your own preferences. Also, if your a noob, go with a service with and administrative panel called cPanel...superior. BTW: I searched your WP name edgepress.com already taken | search SM for domain search tools.
Check this site out as well for non-comm. hosting reviews:
http://webhostinggeeks.com/ (not a affiliate)
My Strategy: Unique name & content, Orig. material, Lot's of posts, know your readers (get subscriptions), time!
