Usability lab

Postby Trisox » Mon Feb 16, 2009 11:15 am

Hello everyone, a lot of us don't have a usability lab at or resources.
I wonder if some of you know alternatives to test usability on users.
Most websites i made i tested using camtasia studio witch is a screen capturing program.
It works great gives you some nice feedback but doesn't have eye tracking system an so on an so fort. :|

We've used Crazy Egg with some mild success http://crazyegg.com/ . It doesn't replace the real thing, but lends some pretty good insight (especially for the cost).

For super cheap you can have actual people test simple tasks on your site:

Mechanical Turk:

I blame the limitations of plain text!

If you have a Mac available there is a nice app called Silverback for performing usability tests.
