I'm interested in finding out what kind of font libraries the Smashing folk have!

How many fonts do you buy licenses for each year?

Do you buy new fonts for specific purposes often?

What type of fonts does your library mostly consist of?

I love fonts, but think my collection is probably comparatively smaller (maybe a symptom of servicing a bit of a niche?). Would love to hear from other font lovers

I've bought about 20 paid fonts over the last couple of years, the rest are freeware. And according to font book I've got 541 fonts.

I generally don't buy fonts for something specific, I bought Ministry because I was totally in love with it and determined to find a use for it. Plus I'd got some credits on a font site where it was available so the price tag wasn't quite as painful as usual.

I bought Affair for my wedding invitations, think that's the only time I've done that.

I think I have too many actually, most never get used and it's really hard to look through them all. I could probably do with spending some time categorising them now I think about it!

I've got way to much fonts; 1452 to be exact. I should really throw away most of them, since they are seldom used. (dingbats for instance).

I've collected all of these fonts the past years and haven't begun sorting them, or deleting them.
The problem is, most of them are stored on a copy of my fonts folder on a backup drive and every time I do a re-install, I'm too lazy to check wich fonts I actually need, so I just copy everything...

Font Explorer says: 1618 (but I have set only 564 to active)

Actually I have some favorites and I use those all the time, but I still don't want to throw away the others, cause for some artworks you just need a fancy font, so I like to have a lot of them...
Almost all of them are free fonts, I only bought Museo for my new website.

There have been a lot of times when I saw fonts for download but didn't install them because I knew I wasn't going to ever use them. So I know I have a good solid set of 500 fonts.

I have way too many. Lately I've been realizing how much time I waste going through fonts. Especially when you end up using your favorites anyway.
Linotype Font Explorer(mac) and Suitcase(pc) help sort them out nicely though. I would die sifting through all the inappropriate faces otherwise.

I used to have 4,000 - I cut that back to about 2,000, now I have about 800 and I hate 790 of them.

I have 644,217 fonts. Im sad and collect them. They are all sorted in a folder and I install them a needed.
