Dear friends,
below you'll find some rules and posting guidelines which are important on the Smashing Magazine Forum.
Postings from new members will be moderated!
1. Respect forum members.
Please avoid offensive behaviour. That's the place to talk, and it's not about you - it's about the web design community. Welcome newcomers, help forum members just as they would like to help you. Appreciate their help, feedback and constructive criticism.
2. Avoid suspicious member names.
Domainnames, URLs and Keywords instead of names are not allowed. Users with member names that look like a commercial or may serve any advertising purposes (e.g. supertemplates, SEO Chicago, Web Design Bangladesh etc.) will be removed without notification.
3. Illegal content is not acceptable.
Please respect artists and their work. All link to hosting services with illegal content (e.g. commercial icon sets on Rapidshare, Megaupload etc.) will be deleted without notification.
4. Self-promotion and affiliate links are not welcomed
Of course, you can link to your article if it complements the ongoing discussion, but don't link to it for the sake of it. Links in signatures are allowed, however you may use at most 2 links in your signature. You can present your site in the subforum Look at my design!. However, before you publish a link to your own site, please help other forum members, sharing your insights and knowledge with them (you need at least 3 meaningful comments to be allowed to submit a link to your site).
5. Your first 3 comments need to be accepted before publishing.
Please notice that the first 3 comments, posted by new forum members, go in the moderation. They need to be accepted by one of our moderators before the post gets published. The moderation usually takes at most an hour, so please be patient.
6. Post in the right forum
Please choose the appropriate subforum carefull: it saves our moderators a lot of work and makes it easier for other forum members to leave a helpful comment on your message, question or problem.
7. Do not double post
Don't write the same message more than once. Use "Edit" instead if necessary.
8. More questions?
You may find solutions to your forum problems in our FAQ.
