Shopping Carts - Payment Processing

Postby Harland » Tue Feb 17, 2009 11:08 am

Hi guys
I've been reading through books on how to develop a shopping cart, and much of it appears farily straightforward. However, no one seems to offer any advice on the final payment processing stage. Does anyone know how the actually payment transfer takes place?

Thanks

You generally need to incorporate Paypal into your Shopping Cart, I believe they provide a relatively simple solution here https://cms.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?cmd= ... er/home_US

Thanks both. I had overlooked the obvious.

Google Checkout is another option.

Consider bank-specific gateways also - they often integrate differently to the most well known processors like Paypal. There is a substantial difference between integrating a one stop shop (like any of Paypal's solutions) and a gateway to a merchant facility (the one we use is Eway, which is an Australian company).

Hmm.. Other than paypal and authorize,
for credit card processing, can consider World Pay also. I've seen it in use on some sites.
