Yes it's probably a rather unusual request for help...

I'm trying to find the URL for a Control Panel login

A friend has one of those free website hosted accounts. I'm trying to locate the cPanel login so i can install Wordpress however i'm stumped.

In the host's welcome email they say:
www.mysite.com:222
or www.mysite.com/admin/
both of which don't work, and they're NOT responding to requests for help!!

hopefully you can suggest how i'd find the directory.

i have the login / password etc, but i just can't find the darn cPanel login.

What company are they hosting with? Perhaps a Google to see if other people have had similar problems. Does the host definitely come with cPanel? Some just come with a basic WYSIWYG editor or online file editor. If they do support cpanel, you could try

http://site.com/cpanel or http://site.com:2082

If they are not replying to support requests, perhaps time for a new host?

problem solved.
they replied - had to setup a VPN and hey presto it worked!
