Hi,
I know this is my first post here, I joined specifically to answer your question.
1) Set up a selection of rectangles at the bottom of a page in photoshop using the rectangle tool
2) Vary the lengths widths and position leaving gaps in between them and stacking them on top of each other.
3) Flatten the image
4) Filter > Distort > Polar Co-ordinates then use rectanglar to polar
5) Adjust the number of layers of rectangles and rotate image as required to achieve desired result
6) stand back and admire the finished result.
Hope fully this does what you wanted and I have completed my first (basic) tutorial !
Enjoy !
Dave
