Great site design, brilliant in fact.

My issues with it are the same as above - a huge dislike for flash (it's slow, eats CPU usage and isn't required for any of the features of your site as it can almost all be done in CSS and javascript).

I also don't like a website to dictate what window and how large my browser is. Don't force a pop-up onto your users.

On top of this, I would also drop the splash page as I want to find out the info immediately once I reach a website, not have a pointless enter button.

With these usability issues aside, brilliant site design, I love it.

Thanks for the feedback jassinc. The main reason that I used Flash is that I needed a new portfolio site quickly and don't know any HTML or CSS yet. I just purchased a book called "Build Your Own Web Site The Right Way Using HTML & CSS" though so hopefully I'll be able to learn it in the near future.

I'll see if I can do something about the popup window.. a lot of people have expressed issues with it as well. I think I need to have the wood fade out to a solid color or work the lighting so that I can do a seamless texture that will blend well with the edges of my document area.

The reason for the splash page is that I wanted users to know that they need flash to view the site and so that I could add meta tags for search engines and google analytics.

Do you have any recommendations to help me learn HTML and CSS?

Thanks again :)

www.tizag.com is a good one for step by step walk throughs. Really handy to get a good understanding of HTML and CSS.
