My first portfolio (german)

Postby creativecat » Wed Oct 21, 2009 6:38 pm

Hi folks,

Here is my first portfolio. At the moment I don't have much Websites there, but I hope I can add some more in the next few months.

www.creativecat.de

What do you think about? What would you change, if you could

In the section "background" I write, that my cat is the creative element - so that causes the name. My cat wrote many long textes - when I left my MacBook on the desk and went for a cup of coffee

Hope my english is not too bad to understand

Many greetings from germany,
Matthias

Hi, really nice effects the paper pped, the navigation of the site but take care of the seo, and i will advice you
on this things in your porfolio try to make your images as links is more easy to click on your image than the links
that are hidden on your text, the footer is nice but its seem that is a another page of another site on the bottom of your site, on the main page i though that "Design", "Intuition" and "Übersicht" text each one was a button and it feel that the button didn't work.

Pls comment or make an opinion on my post

Thank you very much:-)
I will answer on your thread later that day...

I changed the links in the portfolio so you can click on them now.

On the buttons, which you thought that doesn't work, I'm planning to integrate a JavaScript-PopUp.

The footer will be updated soon, so it fits better.

What do you mean with "take care of the seo"? I did my very best;-)

Ok I have implemented the Hovereffect on the blue buttons and integrated a CSS for the iPhone (my first one, so don't be too hard;-) ).

What do you think about?

Do you think, I will get in trouble with Jack Wolfskin because of my logo?

Would be very glad to get some more opinions:-)

The main thing I would change is the header - it uses far too much space and makes the page unbalanced and disorientating. You should make the slogans fit on one line and then bring the navigation upwards (and reduce the height of the box that houses the logo).

I would also align the Creativecat logo with the left edge of the white content area to improve the page flow.

This site has some really nice ideas - I especially like the way you show the mark-up on the portfolio page.
The use of colours and textures breath fresh life in the tired web 2.0 look. And the little touches, such as the hover glows, add interest without being gimmicky.
