Feedback on house buyer website

I'd love some feedback on the above designs.

Most house buying sites are pretty gloomy, focusing on the problems people have. I was trying to be more positive, and show the benefits of selling your house.

The footer is fixed to the bottom of the screen, so it is always visible , even on a 1024 x 760 display.

I initially did the navigation as a joke and was going to remove it, but my boss really loves it (as do other people I have shown it to).

Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

(and yes I know the spelling of Kwik isn't constant - it's been changed multiple times and there were a few that I missed).

On big monitors you only see the sky background image in the middle of a white screen which is a little bit awkward. You should fade out the bg to some sort of blue or make a repetitive cloud formation that won't look bad. I assume that the footer has repeat-x, right?

Thanks for the reply! :)

The examples I posted here were actually cropped to make the files sizes small.

The full background is here:

It sits on a repeating blue gradient, so it wont look odd on large monitors.
The girl also makes use of a scaling technique, so she will always grow (or shrink) to bleed of the edge.

Any thoughts or ideas on the design?

is the model wearing a white cape?
i like the menu at the top, but would recomend using a bold text to make it easier to read. I wish it was not an image so i could really look at the site.
For the read more on parts, i would make some sort of image roll over that turns it from a dull photo to what it is atm.
Last point, i might recomend adding a transparent image of a solid colour (eg, black/grey) over the freedom from debts or a list black outline to make it easier to read rather than tweaking the background image.

what you think?

It's the pole for the sign behind her, silly.

Thanks for the feedback thepixalape!

No - like Andy said, its the pole to sign. However, I have tilted it more to make it more obvious.

For the read more on parts, i would make some sort of image roll over that turns it from a dull photo to what it is atm.
That's a great idea. Unfortunately, I don't have the budget to get such images. :(

I agree that this text needs to be made easier to read. I didn't like the look of using another colour, so I tweaked the background image so all text was behind a sold blue sky.

The site is now live at: http://kwiksalehouses.co.uk/ (Although it still needs a couple of tweaks).
I'd really love some feedback, especially on the code, but also the design & user experience.
I built it using the Drupal CMS and made an extra effort to strip out all the unnecessary code that Drupal tends to add.

I like the hover effect on the logo that lets you know you're going back to the home page - that's a good reminder for users who may not instinctively do that.

The fact that you have to scroll inside the page is a little bit awkward - a suggestion would be to put the contact area at the top, and use a sticky footer solution to make your pages flow to the bottom of the page if the content wouldn't already push them down.

You might also consider making the contact info another tab at the top so it doesn't take away from the content of the page so much. I found myself only staring at the large orange button instead of paying attention to the content inside the page.
