Logo for classical ensemble

Postby wannesvl » Sun Oct 18, 2009 9:35 am

Hi all,

What do you think of this logo? It is a logo for a classical ensemble named: "ensemble a". They wanted something modern looking.

I still have some doubts with it. I'm not entirely sure with the little white line or the serif at the end of the a. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

The logo doesn't show a connection to classical music. Maybe you could tweak the shape to still have the general shape of the letter "a" but make it look like a big tuba, the kind that wraps around a musician's body. Think music. Try listening to classical music while you're making revisions to the design. I'd like to see your final version, whether or not you decide to go in the direction I'm suggesting.

Don't agree that there has to be a direct link with classical music.
However I do feel the logo needs some work on the curves. There're some strange angles and lines in the shape.
Also the sweep at the end looks a little rough.

But I like the initial shape.

My 2 cents

I love sleek, modern designs, but looks a lot like the ally bank logo right now:

Wonder if there's a way to flip the ae ligature or connecting the bottom of the e and a? Just a few thoughts...

Hmm ... Flipping the ae ligature is a good idea. When I have some more time I'll play around with the idea and post some other logos.

Thanks for the replies!

Ok, a whole new idea, much better in my opinion. I hope to receive some feedback!
