Bing Logo - A new beginning with a bad logo!!

New forum. Everything related to logo design is posted here.

After putting in so much time, effort and money, World’s topnotch corporate brand Microsoft has finally unveiled its new Search Engine named “Bing”. Resources tell that “Bing” fast search results will help customers make quick and informed decisions. The unusual features and new approach of this search engine has swept the IT industry.

If we take a quick look at the history, “Search” has been one of Microsoft’s biggest failures. Well, this time they say that they have created “Bing” with new intuitive tools to help customers make better decisions.
Steve Ballmer -Microsoft CEO, explains the functionality of Bing as follows:

“Today, search engines do a decent job of helping people navigate the Web and find information, but they don’t do a very good job of enabling people to use the information they find. Bing is an important first step forward in our long-term effort to deliver innovations in search that enable people to find information quickly and use the information they’ve found to accomplish tasks and make smart decisions.”

Well, coming to the logo design logo design http://blog.corporatelogos.ws/brainless-bing-logoof this new over hyped search engine is no killer logo. Although a simple Google typographic logo takes world’s best compliments but “Bing” don’t seems to be that lucky. The light blue and yellow/orange color combination has been badly criticized. The concept of showcasing the lowercase letter “b” as an eye, simply fails to add any personality and theme to the logo.

Microsoft claims to be spending some $80 to $100 million on the marketing campaign for Bing…isn’t it hideously silly. In short, most of the people think Microsoft fails to create any waves with this stupendously grim log which doesn’t posses any energy to stand up high.

How many of you think you must have done a better job than this? If so, send in your suggestions to share your creative ideas.

It's ugly. The search engine even more so than the logo. Keep on rocking, Microsoft.
That's all, folks!

Good job not reading the post. It's not his logo, it's microsoft's.

And not just not reading the post, not paying any attention to anything whatsoever. Are you living under a rock? Seriously, I've mentioned this in other threads too: stop spamming the forums. We are *not* going to click through to your site just because you try to make it show up over and over again.
I'm all about clean, semantic [X]HTML and CSS - when used properly the results are amazing! Always looking for freelance design and development work as well - PM me if you have a project that needs doing!

I did. It was a good read. Nothing spectacular, but interesting enough for me to finish reading it.

I was a bit disappointed when the blog post had the same contents as the forum post, though.
That's all, folks!

It's pretty ugly...I don't like the "g" at all. It doesn't seem as wide as the other letter forms and is shifted above the baseline of the other letters....weird

Now that y'all have mentioned it, it does look pretty amateur-ish.

I think they tried to pull off a cheerful look but failed.

I don't want my search engine to be cheerful. I want it to always be there, finding exactly the stuff I'm looking for in fractions of a second. You know, like Google.

MS keeps renaming stuff for no good reason. MSN Search == Live Search == Bing, and they all < Google.
That's all, folks!

I'm not liking the name or the logo at all.

And yes, it is annoying that MS keeps renaming things, people (and I) still call it MSN Messenger today anyways, so why change the branding?

They were pushing commercials on tv for a while, so i finally checked out the website, nothing special, just a tricked out version of google image search. I don't see why the site was even necessary to make. And yes, for a logo, it's horrible, just like everything Microsoft does...
