Swish has been around for years and years, and I still don't really like the idea of it — although I have sparingly used it.
I prefer the standardised nature of Flash, knowing that if someone else has to work on my .FLA they're probably going to be able to work it out as Flash is taught in schools, is used by the vast majority of people, etc. This is critical at the company where I work where you might have both the design department and marketing department interfacing with your Flash.
Flash also can be much more advanced than Swish, so if you ever need to make something more complex later on you might encounter problems translating it to Flash. Granted you can just import the .SWF, but then it's pretty much locked unless you go back to Swish and re-edit. Just more hassle than it's worth IMO.
While certain effects can be difficult to produce quickly in Flash, that's what Flash components such as the wonderful ones 3rdelement linked to are for.
