Drupal question

Postby freeman17 » Thu Feb 12, 2009 6:52 pm

So I'm building my first Drupal site complete with e-commerce integration (Ubercart) and when adding text to the front page, there is always the "trimmed" version with the "read more" link at the bottom. How can I get rid of this completely? I don't want the "trim" function to even be a part of the site since this is for a store and not a blog.

I know Drupal was built more for a blogging system, but I seem to like it a bit more than Joomla, and would like to continue using it for an e-commerce site.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Hi,
go to administer -> content management -> content types and click "edit" on the desired content type (story, page, ...) at the bottom you will find "Length of trimmed posts:" select the desired lenght...

This will override the length of trimmed posts set in the administer -> content managemet -> post settings menu.

...I suggest you to search the drupal.org site for any question or problem you have

One last thing, Drupal is far away from being just a blogging system (you can run up blogs much faster and easier with other tools) but I think you'll find out by yourself the possibilities and limitations of it. good luck

Hmm...I thought I looked there. Maybe I just overlooked it, that or it's only in Drupal 6, I'm running Drupal 5 since Ubercart isn't functioning fully with 6 yet.

I'll check again, thanks for the reply!
